08/21/2010 - Chicago, IL (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Tom Gorzelanny turned in seven strong innings and Aramis Ramirez finished 3-for-4 with two RBI, as Chicago escaped with a 5-4 victory over Atlanta in the middle contest of a three-game set from Wrigley Field.
Gorzelanny (7-7) scattered seven hits and one run, fanning nine with two walks to get the win for Chicago, which snapped an eight-game home losing streak. The north siders hadn't won in the Friendly Confines since August 4 against Milwaukee.
Tyler Colvin also drove in two runs for the Cubs, who snapped a five-game losing skid but nearly wasted a 5-0 lead in the effort. Carlos Marmol, who blew a one-run ninth-inning lead in a 5-3 loss on Friday, recovered to post a scoreless final frame for his 22nd save.
Brooks Conrad had a pinch-hit three-run double for the Braves, who had won five of six coming in.
Tommy Hanson (8-9) yielded seven hits and five runs -- four earned -- over five full frames in defeat.
Atlanta's lead shrunk to two games over Philadelphia in the NL East, with the Phillies playing the Nationals on Saturday.
Atlanta climbed within 5-4 in the eighth. Andrew Cashner subbed for Gorzelanny but loaded the bases on two walks and a single. Sean Marshall came on to fan pinch-hitter Melky Cabrera but Conrad launched a bases-clearing pinch-hit double into the ivy in center.
Omar Infante drew a free pass and Jason Heyward was hit on the hand to load the bases before Martin Prado grounded out to short to end the threat.
In the ninth, Marmol issued a leadoff walk to former Cub Derrek Lee but retired the next three batters to end the contest.
Chicago jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first as Ramirez and Colvin registered back-to-back RBI singles.
The Cubs tacked on three more in the third. Ramirez singled home Starlin Castro, who walked to start the frame, then Colvin followed with a base hit and Blake DeWitt added a two-out RBI single.
Alex Gonzalez hit a run-scoring double to get the Braves on the board in the sixth.
Game Notes
Gorzelanny hadn't won since July 24, going 0-2 with two no-decisions since then...The Braves have won three of the five games in the season series...It was Chicago's first home win over Atlanta since July 6, 2009...Hanson hasn't won since July 3 at Florida, going 0-4 with five no-decisions in that span. It was also the first time since July 16 he failed to last longer than five innings in a start.

Mens NCAA Basketball Tournament odds
As of February 9, MySportsbook.com has released its coveted 2007 Mens NCAA Basketball Tournament betting odds. “March Madness betting ” only a month away, the top ranked Florida Gators are favorite at 7-2 to win it all. The defending champs have not disappointed at all this season and currently have a 22-2 record and are undefeated (9-0) in SEC play. The Gators’ thrive off of their extremely balanced, experienced and versatile attack. All five starters started in last seasons National Championship game. What is most impressive with this group is their balance; the five starters all average between 10.7 and 13.6 PPG. The Gators have been on an absolute roll having won 15 straight by an average of 16.4 PPG.
Right behind the Gators are the 5th ranked UNC Tar Heels at 9-2. The Heels (21-3, 7-2) are absolutely loaded with top notch talent and are as deep as any team in the country. A concern for the Tar Heels might be inexperience. Of their top four scorers/ minute earners, three are freshmen and the other is a sophomore. The rest of the regular season, the Tar Heels play only one team that is currently ranked (Duke). Their remaining opponents do combine for an impressive 107-58 record though.
Other teams that the MySportsbook.com members seem to believe will win it all include the west coasts’ top team #2 UCLA (6-1), #3 OSU behind man-child Greg Oden (8-1), and #4 Wisconsin (10-1) behind their defense which has given up 70+ points only three times all season.
Below is a list of some of the favorites to win the 2007 Men’s NCAA Basketball Championship lines. For the full list of teams and March Madness odds be sure to log onto MySportsbook.com. March Madness odds and printable March Madness brackets
With the field of 64/65 set, MySportsbook.com has the Florida Gators as the 4-1 favorite to successfully defend their National Championship. Men’s Division-1 College Basketball has not seen a team repeat as National Champions since Duke won back to back championships in ’91 & ‘92. After losing three out of four late in the season, the Gators are full of momentum as they won their last four games by an average of 18 points. Not surprisingly, right behind the Gators are the other three top seeds: Kansas 5-1, UNC 6-1, and Ohio State 7-1. Many consider Kansas to be the hottest team in the country, having won 11 straight. With Kansas, it is hard to ignore all of the early exits from the “dance” in recent years. With an impressive ACC Tournament, UNC ensured themselves the other top seed. UNC has about as much talent as any other team in the tournament but with a team that’s best players are primarily freshman and sophomores, could youth be a concern. Behind freshman sensation, Greg Oden, OSU will look to do what their football team failed to do just a few months earlier. OSU seems to have peeked at the right time, as they currently have a 17 game winning streak. Since the tournament field was expanded in 1985, there has never been an instance where all four #1 seeds advanced to the Final Four. It is obvious that each of the top seeds have the talent to make it through to Atlanta. But as everyone knows, when makes the NCAA Tournament so special are all of the spoilers and “Cinderella” stories that knock off the favorites on a daily basis.
